I’ve been a professional software engineer for over 25 years. For the past 12 I’ve also been managing teams of engineers from as small as two to as large as twenty. To my surprise I discovered that I really enjoy managing. Especially when I stop telling people what to do and instead give them the space, advice and autonomy to do it themselves. My goal with this blog is to talk about the techniques, books and processes that I’ve found make for strong, productive happy engineering teams. They’ll probably be useful for managing non-engineers as well but I make no guarantees. 😉
